OPTIONS FOR WOMEN ST. CROIX VALLEY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Options for Women St. Croix Valley is a non-profit organization that was formed over 30 years ago to help women and their families choose life for the unborn. The mission of OFWSCV is “to strengthen the lives of individuals and families by providing health, educational and supportive programs that promote life, foster human dignity and build community.” OFWSCV’s current programs include, among other things, free onsite prenatal care, client advocacy, and material assistance.

OFWSCV is currently seeking applications for the role of Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible, among other things, for the operations, governance, finances, marketing and fundraising at the center. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, non-judgmental person who is unwavering in their support for the unborn and is willing to be the hands and feet of God at OFWSCV. Experience in operations, management of others, and with serving underserved populations or people in crisis whether in a non-profit or medical setting is desirable.

The Executive Director position is 40 hours per week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of OFWSCV. In such capacity, the Executive Director upholds all policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director manages staff, independent contractors and volunteers. He/She provides leadership to nurture a professional operation of the center, implements the programs of the center to meet specific client needs, manages expenditures in accordance with the annual budget ap-proved by the Board of Directors and provides prayerful leadership for the center.

SPECIFIC DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:

Operational Duties

  • Develop/maintain a viable internal organizational structure designed to help staff and volunteers meet the needs of the center’s clients and mission and vision of OFWSCV.
  • Formulate and execute operational policies and procedures necessary for the consistent operation of the center.
  • Help lead staff, volunteers and donors in seeking God’s grace and blessings for the center and the center’s clients
  • Provides ongoing supervision and support for staff and evaluating on an annual basis the performance of each staff member
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and regularly communicates with staff through email, interoffice memos and one on one meetings.
  • In conjunction with the Medial Director, Medical staff and Board of Directors, review Medical Policies and Procedures on an annual basis and modify as requested
  • Supervise all sub-contractors and submit contracts for Board approval.
  • In consultation with the Board of Directors and Medical Director oversee the prenatal program at the Center, including Medical Meetings. Review and update all literature, website and marketing materials available to clients, donors and general public to keep in accordance with mission and vision of the center.
  • Oversee and implement Abstinence Program, Material Donations Program, Parenting Education program and any other programs developed to serve the clients of OFWSCV.
  • Ensure that center is in compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA/HIPAA
  • Maintains and complies with all licenses and insurance payments to keep center in compliance.
  • Responsible for overall care and maintenance of building and grounds along with facilities chair.
  • Recruits and trains volunteers and community service workers along with other staff.

Governance Duties

  • Prepare monthly reports, statistics and attend all scheduled Board of Directors meetings.
  • Keeps accurate files on board members and board meeting minutes.
  • Attends all committee meetings including Finance, Facilities, Fundraising, Marketing and Nominating committee.

Financial Duties

  • Manages expenditures and follows all financial protocols to keep the center financially compliant including yearly budget.
  • Works closely with the Treasurer to make sure all government requirements are being met such as: 990 federal return and Yearly Report with the state of Minnesota.
  • Ensure that accurate records are kept and statistics compiled on clients, financials, employees and volunteers.

Fundraising Duties

  • Event Planning such as Annual Fundraising Banquet, Parades, Baby Bottle Campaigns, local Chamber and Civic event.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with agencies, churches, schools and civic organizations which may refer clients to the center or accept referrals of clients.
  • Speak at local organizations on behalf of OFWSCV for fundraising and community awareness and conduct tours at center.
  • Overseeing and implementing in cooperation with the Board of Directors, Staff and volunteers an efficient system for fundraising and donor development.
  • Supervise and implement grant programs including quarterly reports and yearly work plans and budgets.
  • Submitting and monitoring yearly grant applications.
  • Updating and facilitating donor data base along with bookkeeper. · Acknowledging donors with phone calls and thank you letters and notes and EOY Tax Statements.
  • Maintains and complies with all licenses and insurance payments to keep center in compliance.
  • Responsible for overall care and maintenance of building and grounds along with facilities chair.
  • Recruits and trains volunteers and community service workers along with other staff.

Additional Duties

  • Additional duties that the Board of Directors requests of the Executive Director.
